“Smithajyothsnaajaalam Thava Vadanchandrasya Pibathaam
Chakoraanaamaaseedathirasathaya Chanchujadhimaa!
Athasthey Sheethaamshoramruthalahareemaamlatharuchayaha
Pibanthi Svachchandam Nishinishi Bhrusham Kaanjhikadiyaa!”
Literal Meaning:
“The Chakora bird has got its tongue insensitised because of the extreme satiety generated by drinking the luminous light of Thy smiling face.It is for this reason that every night it drinks the waves of nectar from the Moon under the impression that it is some sour gruel that will relieve the insensitivity of its tongue.”
